UFC 91 Results: Lesnar stops Couture

Brock Lesnar tonight proved he is a force to be reckoned with in MMA, soundly defeating Randy Couture in the second round. Although all three judges scored the first round 10-9 to Lesnar, Couture was able to frustrate Lesnar’s attempts to dominate, and Lesnar was warned by referee Mario Yamasaki for holding the fence to avoid a takedown.
Lesnar hurts Couture with a standing elbow early in the second round. Both fighters score knees, and Lesnar is cut over the eye – possibly by a right hand from Couture. After a clinch Lesnar lands a knee to Couture’s chin and hurts him. At around the halfway mark of the round Lesnar lands a right hand to Couture’s head and drops him.
Lesnar sees his opportunity, pounces and piles on the hammerfists. Couture appears to have nothing to offer, and after allowing Couture an opportunity to stay in the fight Yamasaki steps in to stop it.
