Justin Eilers shot dead

MMAWeekly.com is reporting that MMA fighter Justin Eilers was found shot dead on Christmas day. It is reported that it was the result of a domestic dispute. A man – believed to be the boyfriend of Eilers’ mother – has been charged with second degree murder. Rest in peace.
Justin Levens and wife found shot dead

TMZ.com is reporting that MMA fighter Justin Levens and his wife Sarah have both been found dead due to gunshot wounds.
According to the report, police are currently investigating the crime as a possible murder/suicide.

Jon Fitch dropped, then back in UFC

Within 24 hours of highly regarded MMA welterweight fighter Jon Fitch being dropped over apparent disagreement on a merchandising contract relating to a video game, Fitch is once again back in the UFC. With the direct intervention from Lorenzo Fertitta, it appears matters have been smoothed over. After UFC President Dana White went on air to blast virtually everyone associated with Fitch, Fertitta stepped in to fix the mess and it seems that things are now back to normal, with Fitch agreeing to the video game contract.
Chris Leben fails drug test: suspended for 9 months
The UFC have announced that Chris Leben has been suspended for nine months and will forfeit one third of his UFC 89 purse. His results were positive for stanozolol, an anabolic agent, after being tested for his fight against Michael Bisping. All other fighters at the event passed the test.
Leben is quoted as saying “I apologize to the UFC and everyone who supported me in my fight in England”
EliteXC has folded, after suffering financial woes and a disastrous event.
After their main draw ex street fighter turned Heavyweight MMA fighter Kimbo slice was knocked out in 14 seconds by last minute replacement for the injured Ken Shamrock – a light heavyweight named Seth Petruzelli, it went from bad to worse. Not only was their headline fighter KTFO by a former TUF contender from a lighter weight category, comments made later by Petruzelli in a radio interview were interpreted to mean that he was offered a “bonus” to keep the fight standing. An investigation by the Florida State Boxing Commission went on to find there had been no wrong-doing.
